I guess some of you have read my wednesday post about NIE application and my dreams for being a teacher...
Ive complained to some of you.... about MOE stringent requirements on degree holders.... Heres their website on degree holders... as you can see.... theres no other universities mentioned apart from NTU. NUS and SMU... link :http://www.moe.gov.sg/careers/teach/applying/degree/
It was realised that they have a different scheme for overseas university degree holders by a phone call... and a rather sarcastic tone on "External student"
Yesh.. they do accept foreign unis... Ee bing's friend (currently NIE student) has a list of approved and recognised foreign unis from MOE... So she did a check for both of us before we really apply..... and the results is....... UOL is not in the list....
Eve.. perhaps monash uni is in the list..tat is why ur fren is in there.... My other fren (huda) said that her cousin from some australia uni is a teacher now.. her cousin have frens from UOL who cant get into NIE with their UOL degrees.. But they went in with their A levels cert...
I can still teach... using my poly diploma.... I can always go thru that 4 yr course.. with a staring pay of 1.4k...
But if i do so... ive to invest another 4 yrs.... by the time i graduate.. im like 29 or 30 yrs old....
If i do so.... Why the FUG do i take my degree for... ive spent this 23-24k on my degree... i already spent 3 years of my life going thru that roller coaster ride in UOL...
Looking at the time frame and hte salary and the zero opportunity to teach in a sec sch /JC... its not worth it....
Im not that young 18 yr old who can afford to spend another 3-4 yrs studying yet again...
Over the past 2-3 days..the ups and down about this topic "Teacher" .... i guess its time to put an end to it.... I shall no longer dream to be a sec school or JC teacher... Life is about looking forward... I shall aim to be a poly lecturer then.... it shall be my mid-career switch option...
