881 ..great movie..go catch it... simply love the hokkien tunes tat were sung..very touching storyline..Nearly cried..Quite rare for me to cry in a movie..but the storyline does grab ur heart...Though its a local productions, but its beautifully filmed and its definitely worth watching....

881 is about The papaya sisters who are childhood friends. They joined the Ge Tai due to their love and passion. Ge Tai refers to song stage. Every year during the lunar 7th month or hungry ghost festivals, Ge tais are around to entertain the living and the dead. Its actually an old tradition in Singapore. Sad to say that there are fewer and fewer get tai operators around. This show very much dedicate itself to make pple more aware about this tradition and also to give an applause to those singers who sung their heart out for every show every year.

And yea.... this movie 881 is mainly in hokkien. Of course theres subtitles. Just a little note herex. =D
